Issue 374
Welcome to our April issue. Over the past month, key documents outlining strategic growth plans for the industry have been unveiled. On page 14, we explore the British Furniture Confederation’s ambitious Plan for Growth, which sets out proposals to strengthen skills and education, trade and exports, standards and regulations, and sustainable design within the UK. Then, on page 34, we take a closer look at the newly released Timber in Construction roadmap and consider whether it could spark positive momentum for the furniture and joinery manufacturing sector. It’s encouraging to see these strategic plans taking shape, championing the strengths of our sector while identifying the crucial support needed to ensure the UK’s offering is truly world-beating. The global industry will of course come together in just a few short weeks at LIGNA and interzum. Find the most up-to-date information on both exhibitions within our events section. Co-owned by Steve Collyer and Phil Dawn, Collyer & Co. has been crafting high-end bespoke kitchens and cabinets from its Nottingham workshop for over four decades. Within our popular installations section, Riverside Wood Products speaks on the expansion of their capabilities with the introduction of HOMAG machinery, whilst Rosebirch embraces change and improves workfl ow with Microvellum’s software.
