Impact offers free workplace extraction assessment in support of #helpgbworkwell

Leading dust and fume extraction specialist, Impact Technical Services, is offering companies free workplace extraction assessments in support of a new campaign by the Health and Safety Executive.

The HSE (Health and Safety Executive) has launched a new strategy for 2016 through to 2020, Helping Great Britain Work Well, to encourage employers to improve the hazardous conditions which thousands of workers are subjected to every day.

Over the last ten years there has been an improvement in the health and safety record for Great Britain with the number of fatalities falling from 223 to 142 along with a reduction in the number of working days lost, although this still stands at an alarming 27.3m.

Unfortunately, the number of new cases of ill health has only dropped by 29,000 over the last ten years falling from 545,000 to 516,000, leaving significant room for improvement.

The HSE states: “It is an employer’s duty to protect the health, safety and welfare of their employees.”

In support of the HSE campaign, Impact Technical Services (ITS) is offering free workplace assessments to evaluate the dust and fume extraction practices in place within organisations across all sectors. By offering guidance and advice on systems and equipment available, as well as possible modifications to existing systems plus scheduling regular testing, ITS will help organisations to achieve compliance with COSHH regulations.

With over 30 years’ experience in ventilation and extraction systems, Impact Technical Services is perfectly placed to assess such systems and to recommend cost-effective and efficient solutions.

Tony Bosworth, ITS operations director, says: “The Health and Safety Executive’s campaign is a timely reminder of the importance of ensuring your workforce is safe.

“We urge employers to remember that it is law to protect your staff and you could face a hefty fine if sufficient extraction is not in place and regularly tested.

“Our free, no obligation offer is the perfect way to ensure your company is compliant. Together we can help to make Great Britain a safer place to work.”
