Kregg pocket hole drilling machines are selling well since JMJ Woodworking Machinery took on the responsibility for importing them earlier this year.
JMJ made the decision to set up a distributor network in addition to selling them directly – this is now complete with dealers stocking the machines throughout the country.
JMJ’s sales manager Craig Cairn says: “The Kreggs are one of those products which customers are not aware of and half the battle is letting customers see what they are capable of doing.”
JMJ demonstrates the machines in its showrooms and Kregg has produced a series of videos which show them working – and specifically their ease of use.
The range is extensive covering many production situations, from the smaller single drill-bench-mounted units through to three and five multi-drill production machines.
The pocket hole drilling machines are either manually-, electrically- or pneumatically-controlled and bench- or floor-mounted, however, all machines come with flip-over stops, an adjustable back fence which allows for different thicknesses of material, and an overhead pneumatic clamp.
A variety of plastic cover caps and wooden plugs is available which can be used to hide any drill holes which cannot be concealed.
JMJ has found that the main customer base is coming from kitchen manufacturers, fireplace makers and general shopfitters.
