A Bristol-based company that manufactures bike sheds, garden stores and bin stores has purchased a wood waste heater from Wood Waste Technology to save money on its operating costs.
Having moved to new premises in early 2023, The Bike Shed Company was operating from a workshop without any heating. Having enjoyed the benefits of converting wood waste into free heating via a wood waste heater in its previous workshop, the company was keen to invest in another. MD, Dan Danson, was impressed by Staffordshire-based Wood Waste Technology and got in touch for more information.
After a quote and site survey, The Bike Shed Company ordered a WT5 heater to provide much-needed heating for the workshop in winter, but also to benefit from free waste disposal of the large amount of waste wood generated from the manufacturing process. The heater was installed at the 5000ft2 unit by Wood Waste Technology’s experienced engineers.
“Once you’ve experienced the benefits of a wood waste heater, you never want to be without one, and this machine from Wood Waste Technology is so much better than the old burner we had before,” says Dan. “It heats the unit so quickly each morning, and the warm environment helps the glue and paint to dry well – so in turn helps us to operate efficiently.
“We use kiln-dried UK-grown Douglas Fir to manufacture our sheds and stores due to its sustainability, so it makes sense that we dispose of our wood waste in an environmentally friendly way, by converting it into free fuel. Everyone benefits from the investment in the burner, as it keeps us warm and reduces our business bills!”
Wood Waste Technology offers a full range of wood waste heaters, from small hand-fired units to larger fully automatic systems, and offers site survey and design, as well as manufacture, installation and ongoing maintenance.
