When Alex Hancock of AVC (Classic Woodworkers) which trades as Stairbox realised the need to improve the crosscutting performance and output in its mill at Stoke-on-Trent, he was quick to turn to Daltons Wadkin for a solution.
The company has been a specialist supplier of joinery products for over 20 years and specialises in the manufacture and installation of staircases for both domestic and commercial requirements. It operates a 66,000 sq ft staircase factory incorporating the latest technology for staircase manufacture.
Daltons Wadkin, of course, had an ideal solution according to sales director Andy Walsh, who, after visiting Stairbox at its Stoke-on-Trent plant was able to recommend the Salvador S600 Super Angle crosscutting system which enables angle cutting as well as straight, is fully automatic and programmable and for this installation was supplied with a 6200mm infeed capacity.
Andy comments: “I knew straight away we had the perfect solution for Stairbox. The Salvador is a fully optimising machine which is fully equipped to meet their needs. The machine is versatile and fast and should be of huge benefit to their crosscutting production. We were delighted to be able to negotiate the order and ensure that yet another Salvador machine is installed and running in the Midlands area.”
Alex Hancock says: “We had good advice from Andy and the Daltons Wadkin engineering and installation team have done everything we expected of them. The machine is running daily and impacting greatly on our crosscutting performance.”
