Seamers Specialist Joinery trusts in AMS to produce its intricate mouldings

Seamers Specialist Joinery has acquired a new Wadkin Bursgreen M623S six-head planer-moulder for its new workshop in Derby to speed up the production process in a safe way.

Based in Derby, Seamers Specialist Joinery was founded in 1875. A family run joinery business, Seamers ensures its customers receive beautiful bespoke joinery manufactured by a highly skilled workforce, utilising a wide range of specialist equipment along with a professional service,

Seamers Sprecialist Joinery’s first contact with Skeffington-based Advanced Machinery Services (AMS) was in December 2016 when it visited the AMS showroom in Skeffington for a demonstration of a Wadkin Bursgreen M623S planer-moulder.

Sprecialist Joinery’s had already had a really positive experience with AMS, where it tried the machine and were impressed with the quantity of the machines on display.

Leigh Freestone, Seamers’ workshop foreman, says: “We bought this machine because we needed a trusted and reliable planer-moulder in our new workshop to make our classical and intricate mouldings. Before we got our Wadkin Bursgreen six-head planer-moulder, we used to work with different machines to get the same result, but it took longer and was riskier! Now, with this new machine, we can be sure that every single moulding coming from this machine will be the same.”

In addition to obtaining the Wadkin Bursgreen planer-moulder from AMS, Seamers Specialist Joinery received full training on the machine, in its factory from an AMS instructor.

Leigh says: “With the training that we received from AMS, it was very easy to understand the machine and start to work with it. We also appreciate that when we do have any questions, we can call AMS, and get their help straight away.”

Regarding the planer-moulder, AMS has a large range of machines available at its impressive Skeffington showroom for many different types of factories and workshops. At Seamers Specialist Ioinery, they use the Wadkin Bursgreen six-head planer-moulder to produce mouldings, window components, door components and much more.

AMS was originally a service company that sells machines, and Leigh agrees: “The AMS service department is always ready to help. If you are looking for a woodworking service company or you are looking for new woodworking machine, AMS is the best choice.”
