High-end kitchen component manufacturer, Probox, has again turned to dust extraction specialist Wood Waste Control to provide a new waste extraction system at its Nottingham factory.
Probox’s headquarters are in Gawcott, Buckinghamshire, but it carries out manufacturing from factories in Manchester and Nottingham totalling 30,000ft2 and 35 manufacturing staff.
Two years ago, Probox employed Wood Waste Control to design, manufacture and install a combined waste extraction and heating system at its Manchester production site. The company specified its WFS 3900 Drag Chain filter system with SmartAIR energy-saving gate system and new rolled-edge ductwork to process waste from the machinery, plus a Reinbold AZR 600 shredder to chop offcuts into small pieces. The waste is then burned in a WWH 25 automatic warm air heater with a 20 c/m silo to heat the factory.
SmartAIR is an innovative constant airflow controller system specifically designed for dust, fume and laden airstreams. It maintains optimum control of the fan speed to help achieve additional energy savings across the dust extraction system with continuous air quality monitoring, configurable ‘duct cleaning’ programs and real-time monitoring for filter pressures and damper fault conditions.
Probox was so satisfied with the extraction system that it returned to Wood Waste Control to install an identical extraction system at its Manchester site.
