Having operated a CEHISA EP-11 for some 15 years, the Northamptonshire manufacturer had no hesitation in looking to CEHISA again for a new replacement.
Operating from two main factories in Wellingborough, the company prides itself in being able to offer an extensive range of services including space design, bespoke furniture making, upholstery and window fittings, all manufactured and installed by a dedicated team of craftsmen.
As a relatively large panel processor, Maton Rose Interiors has built a reputation for offering tailor-made bespoke installations with short lead times. Edgebanding is key to production workflow and is often required to work up to eight hours a day. Performance and finish quality are key.
Daltons Wadkin is the main distributor for CEHISA edgebanders in Great Britain. “The CEHISA Pro is proving a very popular model with larger-sized panel producers,” comments Alex Dalton, director of Daltons Wadkin. “The Pro-12 model especially, with pre-milling, twin motor corner round unit and feed speeds up to 14m/min. Large tracer wheels allow high gloss edging to be processed complete with top and bottom radius scrapers, glue scrapers and buffing unit.”
Maton Rose Interiors has had a chance to put the machine, installed at the start of this year, through its paces. Owner, Rob Errington, is pleased with the performance to date: “While our old machine had corner rounding, the biggest advantage with the Pro-12 for us is the pre-milling,” he says. “We are sizing our panels on a beam saw so edge quality is not always perfect.
“The pre-milling gives us guaranteed, quality consistency. The finished product coming off the machine is now perfect which has eliminated any post finishing by hand, and reduced fitting time on site.”
CEHISA is a dedicated edgebander manufacturer producing over 1000 machines a year. The Pro forms part of an extensive range of machines including the Flexy, Compact and flagship Avant which are aimed at small- to medium-sized panel producers.
Each model within the CEHISA range can be customised with pre-milling and corner rounding available from the entry level Flexy model upwards.
Set-up is quick and simple for even novice operators with well spaced operating units. For regular switching between tape thicknesses automatic setting is available. Controlled from the intuitive touch screen control (standard on all models) the operator can recall saved programs for automatic instant set-ups.
Daltons Wadkin offers specialist delivery, positioning, installation and training services with all edgebander sales. Alex is keen to emphasise the value of these services. “Our team of factory-trained engineers take great pride in ensuring that each installation is completed to the highest standard.
“Whether a novice user or experienced operator our team will ensure you get the most from your investment. And of course, our regionally based service engineers are on hand for the duration of the machine’s life for on-going servicing and maintenance support.”
