Lamiplast upgrades warehouse handling with HUBTEX

Lamiplast, based in Valencia, Spain, distributes a wide catalogue of materials for carpentry, kitchens, bathrooms, wardrobes, flooring and specialised hardware, serving both professionals and DIY customers. As the business grew, the warehouse faced a classic challenge for furniture and joinery supply chains: how to store more product and keep throughput high without expanding the footprint.

The operational requirement was clear: Lamiplast needed to store large quantities of material at height and make the most of every square metre, while working in narrow aisles with fixed widths where manoeuvrability is critical. At the same time, the company wanted to replace a very old forklift with modern equipment that exactly matched its space and storage capacity needs.

To meet these demands, Lamiplast introduced an electric multidirectional forklift from the HUBTEX PhoeniX MQ range, configured for its application. The PhoeniX concept is designed for handling long loads in narrow aisles and for optimising storage capacity by enabling tighter aisle planning.

HUBTEX reviewed the layout and turning requirements, then delivered a truck tailored to the warehouse conditions. General Manager Pedro Espín sums it up simply: storing at height is essential, and the machine makes that possible within their existing facilities.

Implementation was immediate. As Espín describes, HUBTEX visited the site, built the machine for the real conditions, and it was ready to work straight away. For the operator, the difference is tangible from the first shift. Jose Luis Bañuls highlights smoother movement, easier handling and a far more digital interface compared with the previous truck. He also points to the guided aisle system: once the truck enters the rails, movements that used to require constant manual correction are now handled by the machine, reducing workload and supporting consistent, precise operation in the lanes.

The outcome is improved space utilisation and more efficient daily handling in narrow aisles, combined with a quieter, smoother operator experience.

Internally, the case also signals a broader opportunity: long load specialists like HUBTEX can deliver real value beyond traditional heavy industry, including fast moving hardware and building supplies distribution markets.
