A global logistics company has reduced its waste disposal bills and increased its environmental credentials by buying a new wood waste heater from Wood Waste Technology.
Transped Limited, based in Northumberland, offers a one-stop shop service to organisations wishing to move goods between Europe and the UK. The company also runs a container line between the UK and the Netherlands, plus offers complementary warehousing and distribution services.
The company generates a large quantity of wood waste from the pallets and packaging cases, which the company previously had to dispose of by hiring skips. Export Packing Manager, Daniel Hooper realised that investing in a wood waste heater would not only help dispose of all the waste wood, but that the waste could be converted into free heating, to warm the production workshop.
Following more information and a site survey, Wood Waste Technology’s specialist engineers installed a WT10 wood waste heater into the Transped production area.
“It was amazing to find one solution that solved two of our business issues,” says Daniel. “We can now recycle all the waste wood and convert it into energy, which is saving us around £400-£500 a month on skip hire. As a result, we now have a lovely warm workshop, with the heating generated free of charge. The wood waste heater is very easy to use, and Wood Waste Technology has delivered everything promised. It really was one of the easiest investment decisions we’ve had to make.”
