A UK manufacturer of bespoke office solutions contacted Fercell to install a dust extraction solution for various woodworking processes.
Installation of new machinery meant manufacturing capabilities could be upscaled. With existing local exhaust ventilation equipment already in place, this could be relocated for inclusion into the new system.
The solution needed to encompass a range of woodworking machinery, providing extraction at source for numerous machining tools and removing any harmful dust particulate and chip at source.
The local exhaust ventilation system consists of centralised ducting systems serviced by two systems. Firstly, the existing UF4 dust bag filter unit, with an additional acoustic enclosure for the centrifugal MV15 fan and a drop-out box to separate any large pieces of waste. Secondly, a new UF7 bag filter extraction system with an acoustic enclosure for the MVS HR 20 centrifugal fans and drop-out box.
To minimise any downtime, a TRV-3 bag filter unit was temporarily installed whilst the main systems were being fitted to avoid any disruption to the workshop production schedule.
Situated outside, the UF4 and UF7 multi-breather filter units are manufactured from galvanised steel, designed to withstand the harshest of environments.
With numerous machine tools in concurrent operation, the units are ideal for high dust-loading applications. Any waste material is discharged directly into collection sacks, which can easily be exchanged using a rapid over-centre toggle system for easy release and locking into position. The filtered air is exhausted to atmosphere through a series of exhaust vents.
Available with a variety of fan sizes, the dust filter units have been tailored with centrifugal fans to meet the exact suction and filtration requirements, delivering effective operation.
Following completion of the installation, a thorough examination and test of the system was carried out by a BOHS P-series qualified technician to ensure compliance with the COSHH regulations and HSE guidance HSG258.
