DTJ Interiors positioned for success with the VOLTER CNC Router

For Daniel Jones, founder of DTJ Interiors Ltd, launching a new joinery business was an exciting challenge. With a passion for flexibility and customisation, Daniel sought equipment that would allow him to produce a wide range of furniture, including kitchens, wardrobes, and bespoke home fittings. His journey led him to Daltons Wadkin and the VOLTER CNC router – an investment that has transformed his workflow and efficiency.

The challenge

Having worked with CNC machines before, Daniel was well aware of the frustrations that can arise from inadequate support and unreliable service. When setting up DTJ Interiors, he needed a machine that not only met his production needs but was also backed by a supplier that offered dependable technical assistance.

“I approached Daltons Wadkin because I knew that there’d be someone to call, someone on the other end of the phone,” Daniel explains. “Even if it’s just a simple question, I wanted that support.”

The solution

At the Daltons Wadkin showroom, Daniel was introduced to the VOLTER CNC router. “It was the right budget, the right range, the size I wanted, and the power I needed. It ticked all the boxes without being too over the top,” he says.

The results

Since installing the VOLTER CNC, Daniel has been able to efficiently produce high-quality furniture components. “I use 90% MFC, producing anything from kitchens to wardrobes and bathroom furniture. The machine handles 18mm MFC cabinetry perfectly – it goes from the CNC to the edge bander for finishing, then it’s assembled. As simple as that.”

One of the features Daniel was initially unsure about was the hybrid vacuum bed. “It was something I hadn’t seen before, but the suction is great. Plus, I’ve got clamping capabilities for anything that might move. It works really well.”

The automatic tool changer has also proven invaluable. “No issues at all – plenty of slots and simple to use. Just works at the end of the day, and that’s great.”

Seamless integration with software

To streamline his production, Daniel integrates the VOLTER CNC with VCarve for general machining and PolyBoard for cabinet-making. “PolyBoard is parametric, so I can produce any cabinet with it. It’s super simple to use, and everything communicates perfectly.”

Exceptional support

From purchase to installation and beyond, the support from Daltons Wadkin has been a standout factor for DTJ Interiors. “The process started just before Christmas. The machines had to be custom-made, so there was a bit of waiting, but once installed, they were ready to go. I’ve needed some support since, but one phone call has sorted me out every time.”

Conclusion

For Daniel, the VOLTER CNC router has been a game-changer. Its precision, ease of use, and reliability have allowed him to efficiently grow his business while maintaining the flexibility he values. With the backing of Daltons Wadkin’s expertise and support, DTJ Interiors is now positioned for long-term success.
