Bumper crosscut sales for JJ Smith

Specialist crosscut saw supplier, JJ Smith, has notched up a record three months’ sales of machines right across its impressive range – from a simple Graule pull-over radial arm crosscut to Stromab programmable push-fed crosscut saws.

The number of machines sold by JJ Smith between the start of July and end of September totalled 27 – consisting of eight Graule pull-over saws, 11 Stromab Matrix push-feed  programmable saws, five Stromab CT600 and H&M programmable angle-cutting saws, and also a Matrix F with a built-in trenching head, and, lastly, the specialist Cursal high-speed crosscut saws with in-feed loading and out-feed unloading systems.

The machines have been supplied to a range of different market sectors including furniture, garden products, timber merchants and timber frame housing. Customers included Funky Chunky Furniture, Beesley & Fildes, Fast House, Jacksons Fencing, Patrick Cody, BSW, Woodpecker Joinery and Thornes Beehives, to name but a few.

JJ Smith attributes this success to having a team of specialists who not only have in-depth technical knowledge of the different machine ranges available, but also understand the requirements of the different market sectors. Critically, this enables them to offer the ‘right machine for the job’.

JJ Smith says that it is also a big plus that usually there are at least 10 different models of machines available from stock for immediate delivery, with most available for demonstration and testing at the company’s Liverpool showroom.

Crosscutting product manager, Kevin McGlone, comments: “We are obviously delighted with the results over the last three months, especially given the ongoing problems of Covid-19. It has been very refreshing to hear so many of our customers continue to be busy and are still making significant capital investments in new plant and equipment.

“A big thanks must go to our team of installation technicians who have  successfully installed saws all over the UK whilst having to adhere to all the latest safety regulations.”

Kevin concludes: “Working alongside our manufacturing partners, JJ Smith continues to innovate and introduce new machine models and software solutions that will help us maintain our position as the UK’s market leader in this specialist area.”
