Salice was founded in Cantù, in the heart of Italy’s furniture district, in 1926 thanks to the vision and intuition of Arturo Salice. Guided by the founder’s pioneering spirit and later by the dedication of his sons, Giorgio and Luciano, the company soon moved towards direct production, laying the foundations for continuous technological innovation.
In 1957, with the filing of the world’s first patent for an invisible self-closing hinge, Salice redefined the very concept of furniture hardware. It was the first of many technological milestones that have become part of its DNA.
From that day on, closing a cabinet door became more than just a simple movement – it became a spontaneous, fluid, silent, and controlled gesture.
Italian roots, global network, immediate support
Today, Salice is a structured and global industrial company with three production hubs in Italy:
- Novedrate (Como) – Salice’s headquarters, set within 143,000 m² of green area and 47,000 m² of covered space dedicated to production, storage warehouses, shipping, technical and administrative offices, and the company’s Technology Centre.
- Colli al Metauro (PU) – specialised in the production of runners and metal drawers.
- Belluno – focused on sliding systems acquired from Bortoluzzi Sistemi. Since 2024, Salice has also acquired Nuova Atim Srl, a renowned Italian company specialising in transformable mechanisms and space-saving solutions. This strategic integration enriches its product portfolio and allows Salice to respond even more effectively to the needs of designers and manufacturers, supporting the creation of customised, high-performance furniture tailored to people’s real needs.
As part of its growth path and expansion of expertise, in 2025 Salice also acquired Villes Srl, an Italian company specialising in the production of aluminum sliding systems. The acquisition enabled the integration of complementary know-how, strengthening the company’s design capabilities, and further expanding its product offering with solutions developed to meet evolving demands in design, functionality, and space optimisation.
The integration of Villes has already generated concrete synergies in research and development, reinforcing Salice’s role as a comprehensive technological partner for the furniture industry.
True to its nature
At Salice, innovation means tangible functionality. Every product is the result of an approach that combines research, experience, and precision. Rather than pursuing creativity for its own sake, the company focuses on investing in technologies that truly enhance the user experience of furniture.
All its products — hinges, opening systems, runners, metal drawers, sliding systems, and transformable mechanisms — are engineered with precision, rigorously tested, and built to last.
Salice’s strong and continuously expanding global presence is supported by 11 international branches that operate as true service centres, ensuring fast and precise support.
The company offers a lasting commitment to every customer — from those who need a new hinge after 50 years to those seeking an innovative solution today.
Added value, visible in every detail
