Ney introduces Cosmec's Fox series of CNC routers

One of the largest independent woodworking machinery and component suppliers in the UK, Coventry-based Ney offers a ready solution for the small and medium-sized furniture and joinery manufacturer. The company’s CNC machinery offer includes Alberti’s throughfeed drilling machines and Cosmec’s routers. A relatively recent introduction from Cosmec is its three-axis Fox series, designed with the smaller manufacturing firm in mind.

Small but perfectly formed, the Fox series comprises of three machines – Fox 13 (3200 x 1300mm), 16 (3200 x 1600mm) and 20 (3200 x 2100mm) – ranging in size to accommodate the cutting, milling and drilling of plastic, aluminium, composites and wood up to 2100mm long and 150mm thick.

Fully-equipped with an electro spindle (10kW, 13.5hp) and a ten-position linear tool-changer, the Fox series boasts ridged steel welded construction and has a machine bed with a super-efficient high-pressure vacuum system. The Fox pre-setter accurately measures the cutting tool length which ensures quick tool replacement and resetting of the machine, limiting machine downtime.

The worktable can be divided into eight operating sectors, each activated independently via the control system on the Fox. The machine’s ability to monitor individual tool paths means the vacuum can be activated and deactivated automatically across the work surface or in the desired area for optimal results when nesting.

The Fox's mobile console has a colour display which is equipped with Isodraw CAD software as standard, allowing the user to program and store designs directly onto the computer or via a network cable or USB. The machine set-up is controlled directly from the controller enabling full flexibility of the machine bed when using small or large panels.
