F G Parker & Co has specialised in the production and preparation of profile-wrapped mouldings and furniture components for nearly 30 years, but the company started out in 1950s as a component provider for temporary structures required by the armed forces.
Today, the Dorset firm works with many of the UK’s leading kitchen and bedroom furniture manufacturers with high quality profile-wrapped mouldings and furniture components.
Constant investment in up to date equipment – such as the latest generation of moulders and profile wrapping machines and edgebanders – has enabled the company to keep pace with customers’ exacting requirements and to maintain its service reputation on both large contracts as well as bespoke orders from interior designers and shop- and office-fitting contractors.
The entire manufacture and tooling for wrapped mouldings is undertaken in-house on the company’s two acre production site which provides full quality control assurance at all times. For cornices, pelmets and other furniture components, F G Parker & Co provides a comprehensive range of colour matches in both traditional and contemporary styles.
The business is now managed by George Parker’s grandson, Robert, and his father Tony Parker. The company has built on its earlier success continuing to supply many of the country’s leading manufacturers of high quality flat-packed furniture and assembled.
Today, the 20,000sq ft production plant is home to highly advanced CNC routing equipment, the very latest CAD/CAM capabilities and state-of-the-art edging, wrapping, cutting and drilling facilities, providing the flexibility and service standards required by customers all over the country.
Cutting
The company is a specialist in cutting chipboard, MFC, MDF and raw boards on its high speed, automatic beam saws and automatic crosscut saws which are able to meet most requirements. It uses the latest in optimisation software to minimise waste and optimise customers’ cutting lists so that each panel can be cut exceedingly accurately.
Edging
Using the latest technology in edging, F G Parker & Co Ltd can edge panels, rails and doors. It can provide the complete edging service and numerous colours are available. The company can also cut and edge doors to specifications with any size and order quantity.
A range of machining options
Also on offer from F G Parker & Co Ltd is drilling, mitring, end-capping, dowelling and many other processes to provide the ideal furniture component.
The company produces, as standard, many colours to get the perfect posts for a kitchen, for instance. In stock are 36 x 36mm and 60 x 36mm but any specification can be made. Drilling and/or cutting the lengths down to fit any carcase size required is also an option.
Drilling rails
The company’s specialist drilling and boring machines enable it to offer various holes drilled to any area of any sized cross-tie, post, mullion, front rail and back rail. Additionally, it can drill longer sized rails up to 3m long. The firm’s rail drilling department is able to cope with high volume orders as well as small batches.
Drilling panels
Using the latest CNC drilling machines, F G Parker & Co Ltd can produce many different panels. It can router and cut slots in order to assist its customers in creating the perfect kitchen, bedroom and bathroom cabinets.
Corner posts
The company also offers corner posts manufacture with the added option of perfect end capping. Using the exact matching foil for the end of the product ensures that the MDF ends are hidden and the post is completely matched on all faces.
Moulding
Using its multi-head moulding machines, F G Parker & Co Ltd can produce MDF profiles to fit any kitchen or purpose. MDF can be creatively moulded into many different designs, which can then be wrapped in a wood veneer, paper or PVC foil-laminated in many colours to create the perfect finished product.
Using MDF mouldings instead of traditional wood means that end customers can have the shape and finish desired without the traditional wood prices.
Wrapped profiles
F G Parker & Co Ltd can wrap many MDF and chipboard products in a variety of sizes. This process means that the company can supply a post, rail and cornice to match any cabinet.
Additionally the product is wrapped all the way round giving a very well-finished,clean and tidy look to any cabinet, whilst at the same time keeping the cost low.
