With a long history in the solid wood processing sector going back 100 years or so Daltons Wadkin have the track record and the brands to make an impact on the timber industry which would be hard to match. From sawmill equipment to machinery for small joiners’ shops and cabinet makers the company offer a formidable array of equipment.
It is the company’s wide portfolio coupled with its engineering capability and experience that makes Daltons Wadkin stand out from the crowd.
With an engineering background dating back to the beginning of the last century, the company has the ability to support its world-leading brands as well as providing the expertise required for the rebuilding and upgrading of state-of-the-art machinery and a manufacturing base from which equipment is supplied to all parts of the world.
Amongst famous brands for which Daltons Wadkin is distributor for is Stenner, renowned for its stand-alone band resaws, a relationship which goes back many years and enables the company to promote and supply the popular ST80, ST100R and ST130 resaws to timber processing companies large and small.
When it comes to crosscutting, Daltons Wadkin is the sole distributor in the UK and Ireland for the Italian-built Salvador automatic optimising upcut cross-cutting systems which are supplied in a variety of forms from the straight-cutting S200 to the angle-cutting S600, all fully PC-controlled and with an infinitely variable arrangement of tables, feed systems and outfeed arrangements designed to suit almost any application. The company also markets the straight-cutting S50 and S60 upcut machines for the smaller user.
Multi-rip saws are represented by CML and the latest model to arrive in the Daltons Wadkin showroom will be the all new E350R, the first one of which arrived in October. This is an economical multi-rip with moving blade, touchscreen controls, etc, and although only one of a wide range of saws offered by CML, this machine is expected to appeal to a wide market, being available at a much lower price than has been the case hitherto.
Daltons Wadkin has recently reached an agreement with Leadermac to promote and market its range of planing and moulding machines and a five-head Smartmac moulder will be arriving in their showrooms before Christmas.
Leadermac is a major manufacturer of planer-moulders worldwide and offers an infinite variety of capacities and designs to suit a wide range of users.
Alex Dalton comments: “We are very pleased to be able to add this moulder range to our portfolio. We have always been involved in the supply of this type of equipment, going back to the earliest days with Wadkin, and we look forward to representing Leadermac.”
Daltons Wadkin also has experience with the supply of Camam machinery from Italy and has recently supplied a Camam double-end tenoning machine to a UK customer. Camam manufactures a highly customisable range of tenoning, boring, shaping and clamping machines with either manual or auto feed. The equipment is designed for high volume, repetitive processing, predominately in solid wood and principally for the furniture industry.
Classical machines are not left out as the company continues its long association with Wadkin machines. Daltons Wadkin manufacture a number of Wadkin models in its Nottingham facility as well as having further machines manufactured elsewhere in Europe.
The range currently encompasses sanders, planers, thicknessers, sawbenches, crosscut saws, bandsaws, lathes and spindle moulders.
All in all, a considerable array of equipment is offered by Daltons Wadkin for the solid wood processing sector which is backed up by the company’s transport, installation and service teams which operates throughout the UK and beyond.
