Zero ThinPly by Koskisen and Plantics

Zero ThinPly, launched by Koskisen, is entirely made from bio-based materials. It combines high-quality Finnish birch veneer with a completely non-toxic, plant-based adhesive. The adhesive has been developed in collaboration with Plantics, meeting the product requirements for Koskisen.

Fully bio-based

Zero ThinPly contains no added formaldehyde, phenolic compounds, or urea. Despite being entirely plant-based, the adhesive delivers strength comparable to that of traditional adhesives.

This meets customers’ growing demand for a broader range of fully bio-based material options. The bio-bonded thin plywood is intended for indoor use, for example in laser-cut design products such as lamps, toys, jewellery, and various interior decoration items. It is particularly well-suited for indoor air-critical applications, where strict formaldehyde emission limits apply.

Fossil-free wood products

“The award is a great recognition of our systematic work in developing bio-based and completely fossil-free wood products. We will continue our efforts to increase the use of sustainable raw materials,” says Tom-Peter Helenius, Director, Panel Industry for Koskisen.
