TM Machinery – beyond the cut

TM Machinery will be exhibiting the Striebig Compact at this year’s Professional Woodworking Expo.

In most joinery workshops, cutting is the starting point for production. Accurate, repeatable cuts and efficient handling have a significant impact on material yield, efficiency and the quality of the finished result.

For workshops handling bespoke work, decorative materials and custom sizing, small inaccuracies have a habit of travelling — showing up later in production or installation, when they are harder and more costly to resolve.

Taking place alongside InstallerSHOW and the Painting & Decorating Show, this year’s Professional Woodworking Expo at the NEC Birmingham reflects the increasingly joined-up nature of modern joinery and fit-out projects. That’s why TM Machinery will be demonstrating the Striebig Compact at Stand A10.

Striebig vertical panel saws are designed around the realities of workshop production — handling, accuracy, repeatability and efficiency, not just the cut itself. The Compact brings that same thinking to workshops looking for a more efficient way to handle sheet materials.

“It’s been a challenging few years for a lot of businesses in the woodworking sector and, while confidence is definitely improving, customers are still thinking carefully about where they invest,” says Matt Pearce, Managing Director at TM Machinery.

“What makes the Striebig Compact valuable is that it goes beyond simply cutting. From allowing one person to handle large sheets, through to producing accurate, repeatable cuts and glue-ready edges for the next stage, it improves the flow, consistency and efficiency of workshop production.”

Where a conventional table saw requires the sheet to be fed through the blade, the Striebig Compact works the other way around — the material stays stationary while the saw head moves across it. The result is accurate, repeatable cuts and clean edges that help save time and reduce preparation.

Whilst the Compact sits at the entry point into the Striebig range, the precision remains the same throughout the wider range. Cut quality and accuracy to 0.1mm remain consistent for the Compact or a fully automatic model.

Flexibility is a hallmark of the Striebig range, with options including scoring units, digital measuring systems and routing and grooving capabilities. For laminates and decorative faced boards, the pre-scoring unit helps protect edges and eliminate tear-out when processing higher-value materials.

For some workshops, the reduced footprint is a major advantage, requiring as little as a third of the floor space of a conventional sliding table saw setup. For others, it is about accuracy, repeatability and workflow efficiency. Whatever the starting point, the impact is felt throughout the workshop.

TM Machinery will also be demonstrating an AL-KO Power Unit 160 extraction system alongside the Striebig Compact — an ideal partner for modern workshops. Quiet, energyefficient and designed around 100% air recirculation, the Power Unit range helps maintain a cleaner, safer and more stable workshop environment.

Visitors to Stand A10, Hall 2 will be able to see the Striebig Compact in action and learn more about the wider Striebig range from the team.
