Titus expands portfolio of soft-close sliding door damper mechanisms

Titus, a global leader in furniture hardware, has expanded its product portfolio with the innovative Slidix range of soft-close sliding door damper mechanisms. This comprehensive solution addresses the growing demand for engineered construction in furniture and appliances, where consumers increasingly expect both superior functionality and aesthetic appeal.

The Slidix range features advanced hydraulic damping technology that offers fully controllable damping curves, allowing precise force distribution across the entire damping action. This technology ensures consistent performance over an operating temperature range of -30 to +70 ºC, with the advanced design and high-quality construction of the Titus dampers, ensuring that consistent and complete closing is achieved even in extreme conditions.

Available in 50mm and 100mm stroke options, Slidix mechanisms are compatible with materials including wood, glass, hollowcore, and plastics, accommodating doors weighing from 15kg to 120kg. The range offers three damping arrangements – from inside out, outside in, or both directions – providing flexibility for various applications.

A standout product in the range is Slidix Centro, which provides soft opening, closing, and centring of middle sliding doors. Suitable for doors weighing 10kg to 40kg, it features integrated dampers that ensure reliable soft closing in both directions with minimal rebounce.

The versatility of Slidix products allows them to enhance the performance and end-user appeal of a broad spectrum of applications, including:

Furniture, including wardrobes, three-door wall partitions, walk-in closets, drawers, two-way runners in draw cabinets and storage systems with pull-out units.

Interior sliding doors, including pocket doors, barn doors and wall partitions.

Exterior sliding doors, plus sliding windows for balconies and summer houses.

Bathrooms, including shower screens.

Appliances and white goods, including refrigerators, wine coolers and under-counter refrigerator/coolers.

“Today’s consumers demand more than just functionality – they expect convenience and luxury in their everyday interactions with furniture and appliances,” says Phil Beddoe, UK Managing Director at Titus. “The Slidix range enables manufacturers to meet these expectations efficiently and cost-effectively.”

For manufacturers, the Slidix range offers significant advantages in production streamlining. Its modular construction and adaptability allow a single system to be used across multiple applications, potentially reducing procurement costs and simplifying inventory management.

The latest addition to the range includes a push-to-open solution combining soft closing and touch opening in a single mechanism which, Titus is proud to claim, is currently “the only system of its kind available in the market”.
