Timbmet proud to be a stocking partner for Abodo

Abodo – The future of wood

Many exterior timbers are harvested from unsustainable old-growth forests or are treated with harmful chemicals. Not Abodo, whose striking timbers stand the test of time and are rapidly renewable.

Designed to age with grace, Abodo timbers have exceptional weatherability and maintain their durability and beauty for a lifetime.

Based in New Zealand, Abodo timbers are harvested from FSC® certified rapidly renewable New Zealand plantation forests. They are ethically crafted with respect from beginning to end – allowing them to meet today’s increasing needs without disadvantaging future generations.

High-performance thermally modified timber

To enhance the durability and stability of its products, Abodo uses the latest technology in thermal modification. The brand’s proprietary modification process uses a modification kiln to gradually increase the temperate of New Zealand Radiata Pine to 230 degrees.

Abodo’s thermally modified timbers are free from harmful chemicals, making them safe for human interaction and minimising any potential negative impacts on the environment.

Rated as Durability class 1 (EN350-1), the timbers are ideal for interior, exterior and joinery applications, and offer improved stability.

Carbon negative

Abodo timbers are verified carbon negative. Embodied carbon is increasingly becoming the dominant source of building emissions as renewable energy becomes more widespread.  Each square metre of 20mm thick Vulcan Cladding stores 9.74 kg of carbon. That makes an important difference to the embodied carbon in your project.

Thermal efficiency is an important consideration in the design of windows and doors. The right timber choice will greatly improve the value, health, and sustainability of the building. Abodo also provides an ultra-low thermal conductivity rating of ~0.095 W/(mK).
