As a one-component, water-based lacquer range, Hesse’s COOL family is designed to meet most surface requirements in high-quality interior fittings. At the same time, the range is low-emission, low-flammable and developed with sustainability in mind.
The COOL range comprises COOL-FILL filler, COOL-COLOR colour lacquer, COOL-TOP clear primer and topcoat, and COOL-NATURA lightening lacquer.
COOL-FILL is particularly easy to apply, making it well suited to those looking to experiment with aqueous lacquer systems. Its excellent filling power, ability to stay on vertical surfaces and good sanding properties make it an ideal filler for achieving high-quality, closed-pore finishes.
It can be recoated using COOL-COLOR, as well as CN or polyurethane lacquers. The combination of COOL-FILL and COOL-COLOR is flame retardant in accordance with DIN EN 13501-1 and is also suitable for green building projects, including those covered by the Dubai Green Building Regulations.
Good opacity, excellent scratch resistance and an especially elegant surface finish are among the key characteristics of COOL-COLOR. With a VOC content of less than 3%, it is suitable for both priming and top coating across a wide range of interior fixtures and fittings, including staircases and doors.
COOL-COLOR can also be used for coating decorative glass surfaces with the addition of HYDRO Crosslinker.
Providing an ideal match within the system is COOL-TOP, a clear base and top coat offering very good chemical and mechanical resistance. Its simple application and good sanding properties are designed to make the switch to aqueous lacquers straightforward, even for users more accustomed to polyurethane systems.
COOL-TOP also contains less than 3% VOC, is flame retardant and can be used across interior furniture, fixtures and fittings. It is suitable for the creak-free coating of staircases and for green building projects, as well as for children’s toys and furniture, having been tested in accordance with DIN EN 71-3 and DIN 53160-1/-2.
Completing the range is COOL-NATURA, a lightening lacquer developed to retain the genuine look and feel of natural wood. The product responds to the growing trend towards natural timber appearances in interior fittings and is particularly effective on spruce, fir and other pale wood species.
