When it comes to the appearance of kitchen, bathroom, or living room furniture, the interplay between the edge and the surface plays a decisive role. Not only because of resistance to water and heat or the matching colour of the edge to the surface decor. What is particularly crucial is a joint that is as invisible as possible – the so-called zero glue joint. It is precisely in this area of tension that adhesives play a crucial role.
KLEIBERIT offers a product portfolio specifically developed over many years for this purpose. Its principal focus is on new developments such as the label-free PUR hotmelt adhesive KLEIBERIT 707.9 ME series, which offers special properties and benefits for the applicator.
One standout feature is the Overnight Technology, which means that even if the production process is interrupted for an extended period, including overnight, no cleaning of the application systems is required, and processing can resume seamlessly.
The virtually invisible joint provides optimal protection for edge bonding against moisture ingress in kitchens and bathrooms or even in tropical environments, as the adhesive joint created with PUR hotmelt adhesives can be described as irreversible and permanent.
To meet the growing demand from users and consumers regarding health and safety, KLEIBERIT has developed the bio-based PUR adhesive system 707.9.85 ME BIO. This PUR hotmelt adhesive is produced with approximately 30% renewable, non-petroleum-based raw materials and is also completely label-free. Its applications range from edging various panel materials with ABS, PMMA, and PP edges, as well as CPL and HPL edges, to bonding paper, veneer, and solid wood edges with a heat resistance of up to +140 °C or -30 °C.
