SPARKY to ignite the senses at Salone del Mobile

SPARKY, a sustainable chair family consisting of dining and bar chairs designed by Studio Schrofer for Satelliet Originals is to be showcased at Salone del Mobile 2025 this April (Stand 07 | C36).

SPARKY is the latest addition to the Satelliet Originals collection—an exclusive line by Satelliet specialising in premium furniture for the hospitality industry. "The beauty of SPARKY lies in its adaptability," says Frans Schrofer. "Interior architects decide its setting, but its versatility ensures it thrives in any project."

Evolutionary, eco-minded and elegant, the SPARKY is an example of re-forming material, process and usage. Its organically shaped felt seat is made from recycled PET, a material derived from plastic bottles. Without the use of glue or unnatural additives, the felt is pressed by thermal moulding to ensure a more sustainable production process. It’s an eco-friendly production process that minimises environmental impact.

Virtual Reality

Studio Schrofer’s advanced design methodology using VR technology plays a pivotal role in the SPARKY design process. By visualising the chair in a virtual environment, the team meticulously refines every detail before moving to a physical prototype, ensuring precision, efficiency, and a seamless transition from concept to production.

“By applying VR technology, Studio Schrofer provides us with optimal support”, says Robin Willemse, Satelliet Director. “Thanks to their innovative working methodology, Studio Schrofer takes us through the process, fully assesses designs in advance and, as a result, together we realise a fast time-to-market of models that are in line with the trend and directly applicable in the hospitality market.”

Shaping Future Living

Frans Schrofer's hands-on approach ensures designs that are both ergonomic and visually appealing. For more than forty years, Schrofer depended on his intuition to create unique designs. "Designing is a matter of feeling for me," he says. "I leave all options open and impose no restrictions on myself." SPARKY’s organic shape supports the body, with a frame that seamlessly follows its contours. The seat’s curved edges fold around the frame, creating a unique design. More than just comfortable, SPARKY makes a visual statement. "The steel frame acts like an exoskeleton of flowing lines ensuring comfort and strength of the seat."

Available in colours of melange grey, blue, or green, SPARKY is a sustainable choice for modern restaurants, sustainable offices, and hospitality spaces.
