A Yorkshire shopfitting manufacturing company has purchased a wood waste heater from Wood Waste Technology to reduce its carbon footprint and save money on its operating costs.
Your Brand Partner (YBP) Limited manufactures all aspects of shopfitting products, including reception desks and display units from its 7000sq. ft premises in Batley, Yorkshire.
Having experienced the benefits of wood waste heaters at a previous company, director of YBP Group, Adrian Walker decided the time was right for the business to invest in one, so contacted Wood Waste Technology.
Following a site survey and quote, the business purchased a WT5. It was installed by Wood Waste Technology’s experienced engineers, to provide much-needed heating for the workshop in winter, but also to provide free disposal of the large amount of waste wood generated from the manufacturing process.
“We’re delighted with our decision to invest in a wood waste heater,” Adrian says. “It’s a great piece of kit which will keep us warm and save us money. We especially like the energy saving aspects, and the fact that our waste gets used productively, rather than going to landfill. I purchased two wood waste heaters from Kurt at Wood Waste Technology many years ago for another business, so it was a no-brainer to source another wood waste heater from him.”
YBP’s manufacturing unit is based in an old mill, with a mezzanine floor and two roller shutter doors, so could be a difficult space to keep warm in the winter months before the heater was installed. And when the business recently doubled the size of its premises, the team was able to duct some of the warm air from the heater through into the new section, to heat the new manufacturing area too.
YBP also purchased a summer heat dump option with the heater, allowing the business to continue to burn waste wood throughout the summer, as the heat is diverted from the factory into atmosphere.
