SCM’s latest innovations for windows and doors and solid wood processing

SCM has introduced several new solutions for the windows and doors sector, designed to meet the needs of both large, industrial manufacturers and small to medium-sized companies.

At the heart of the range is windorflex 2, a high-productivity machining cell developed for the manufacture of window components. The system features automatic work-piece loading and unloading via an anthropomorphic robot, ensuring operative continuity, high accuracy and efficient production flow management.

Building on this concept, windorflex line extends the capabilities of the machining cell into a fully integrated production line. By incorporating windorflex 2 into an automated line, the solution not only performs machining operations but also manages the handling of semi-finished components and the automated storage of both incoming parts and finished workpieces.

The result is a fully orchestrated production process, ideally suited to large companies facing increasingly diverse production requirements and smaller batch sizes, while maintaining maximum efficiency. From raw material preparation through to final storage, windorflex line optimises the entire production flow by combining productivity, flexibility and advanced automation.

For small and medium-sized companies, SCM is enhancing the capabilities of the windor nt1 angular machining centre with the new Optima BR drilling-routing unit. This addition enables a complete range of complementary machining operations, including horizontal milling. The machine is also supported by Maestro active windoor, an innovative software interface developed specifically for window production applications.

In the solid wood processing segment, attention is focused on topset xxl, the new automatic throughfeed moulder designed to broaden SCM’s planing and moulding machine range.

Developed to meet evolving market requirements, topset xxl delivers superior surface finish quality while providing the flexibility needed to efficiently manage small production batches through reduced setup and changeover times.

Key features include increased working capacities, spindle speeds of up to 12,000 rpm, customisable compositions and worktables with micrometric settings. In terms of performance and technological solutions, topset xxl is positioned above the iconic superset nt model. The latter is now available with a new electronic control system featuring the eye-S console, equipped with a 15-inch colour touchscreen display, and Maestro active 4-side software for machining profiles used in windows, doors, stairs, beads, frames and furniture components.

Also making its debut is connexus fj, part of the new range of Connexus automatic tenoners and mortisers. This CNC tenoning and mortising machine features a double-sided frame and is specifically designed for producing Miter Door, Face Frame and French Joint connections, commonly used in cabinet door manufacturing.
