REHAU pulls in the crowds at Surface Design Show

REHAU attracted a strong flow of attendees to its stand at the Surface Design Show, drawing consistent interest from those exploring surface solutions suitable for both bespoke joinery and large-scale furniture production.

Surface Spotlight Live

A major highlight of SDS 2026 was Surface Spotlight Live, where materials were shown in practical applications rather than just conceptual displays. This format resonated well with furniture and joinery professionals attending the show, allowing them to see, touch and test surfaces in conditions close to everyday use.

As part of this live display, REHAU also presented the RAUVISIO Cube collection, demonstrating its versatility across different applications and highlighting its suitability for contemporary interior schemes.

RAUVISIO Crystal – premium aesthetics with high efficiency

One of the standout materials of this year’s show was RAUVISIO Crystal. A polymer surface with the appearance of glass, available in high-gloss and matt finishes, the product generated significant interest from attendees looking to produce kitchen fronts, bathroom furniture and high-end interior fittings. RAUVISIO Crystal was widely seen as a practical alternative to lacquered or real glass fronts, offering:

a consistently high-quality surface finish,

reduced weight and improved handling during fabrication and installation,

suitability for modern, efficient production processes.

The level of technical enquiries throughout the show highlighted its growing popularity among those seeking to balance premium design with manufacturability.

Desert Stone aesthetics: natural tones driving demand

This year’s show was also the perfect opportunity for visitors to explore new Desert Stone-inspired colours and textures. Warm, mineral shades and stone-like finishes featured prominently across the exhibition and attracted strong interest. This trend reflects an increasing demand for natural, timeless colour palettes, surfaces that work seamlessly with wood and wood-based panels, and materials suitable for residential and contract environments alike.

These understated tones were frequently cited by visitors as a safe yet contemporary choice for upcoming furniture collections.

RAUVISIO Noir: matt surfaces proven by scratch testing

RAUVISIO Noir received an equal degree of attention, particularly during live scratch-resistance demonstrations on the REHAU stand. Conversations with professionals uncovered that deep matt black surfaces remain highly desirable, but durability is a critical concern for manufacturers.

The hands-on tests clearly demonstrated high resistance to everyday scratches, excellent retention of the matt appearance, and suitability for high-use furniture applications and commercial interiors.

As a result, RAUVISIO Noir was widely regarded as a reliable solution for attendees determined to deliver bold, dark designs without compromising long-term performance.

Surface Design Show 2026 proved a huge success and sparked discussions around longevity, visual impact and the role REHAU surfaces can play in projects.
