Leading upholstery component supplier, R J Binnie, is celebrating its 30 year anniversary this year by exhibiting on Stand 63 at the Furniture Component Expo 24 at the Telford International Centre between April 24th-25th.
The company was founded by Managing Director, Richard Binnie, initially as a manufacturer of sewing threads to the furniture manufacturing trade. Over time, with a strong customer profile of upholstery and mattress manufacturers, the company was able to expand its range of products to become the one stop shop for upholstery components in the UK.
“We have always had a strong commitment to supporting our customers,” explains sales director, Matthew Plant. “We see ourselves as an extension to our customer’s warehouse, so trust is very important.”
Last year R J Binnie moved into its new additional premises, giving the company extra office and warehouse space. “Being able to hold sufficient stock to give customers peace of mind that their production won’t be held up is a very important role for us,” says operations manager, Susan Smith. “Our fleet of eight vans give us the flexibility to control deliveries to suit customer demand.”
This building also houses a production facility where recliner mechanisms and sofabed mechanisms are assembled. Partnerships with Linkrest and MotionItalia provide customers with extremely high quality and innovative solutions. Then we come back to where it all started with the sewing thread. R J Binnie has a plant of high-quality precision winding machines that are fitted with state of the art lubrication control units, that gives the most consistently high-quality thread possible.
