SCM, one of the world’s largest woodworking machine manufacturers, has honed its panel sawing technology over the past 70 years – the result is impressive both in terms of design and performance. The elegant lines of the SCM L’invincible Si 5 with brushed steel body and large colour touchscreen control exude an air of sophisticated precision, but the aesthetics are just the start.
Operators will welcome the wealth of features that facilitate working at speed with accuracy; start-stop controls on the sliding table, powered rise, fall and tilt adjustment; powered CNC rip fence movement; independent scoring saw unit with separate powered two-axis vertical and horizontal adjustment.
At the sharp end, performance is delivered with a 550mm diameter blade capacity giving a massive cutting depth of 200mm, with optional motor powers up to 11 Kw.
All powered functions are accessed and programmable through the all-new Eye-S control. This intuitive and vibrant 15” touch screen gives direct control of all moving axis on the machine to allow the operator to quickly set, save and recall up to 1000 specific programs. The onboard cutting assistant will also help operators calculate complex angles and cut sequences. Tool life can be monitored to ensure cutting performance and edge finish are kept optimal.
In terms of working capacity, the sliding table is available in three lengths 2200, 3200 and 3800mm. Constructed from aluminium alloy the carriage runs on high precision arch ground hardened guides – a system pioneered by SCM and guaranteed for 10 years.
