Eco-friendly finishes from Osmo UK have been used in a residential property in Sevenoaks, Kent to provide creative design and protection to a newly-made kitchen cabinet.
Bespoke cabinetmaker, SBT Design, was contracted to design a cabinet that would match the current kitchen decor. Not only did the new piece of furniture have to provide suitable storage, it needed a strong middle section in order for it to double up as a seating area. The cabinets were all constructed from veneered American white oak MDF. Once completed, SBT Design required a finish that would provide protection to the material.
“Having worked with Osmo products previously, we are aware of the immaculate finish that can be achieved,” says Steve Tomlin, owner of SBT Design. “They provide a beautiful finish to all wood surfaces, whether it is flooring, cabinets or doors. The finishes also offer optimum protection, something which is important when in a kitchen.”
SBT Design specified Osmo Wood Wax Finish Creativ in black. The light, semi-transparent finish was perfectly suited for the cabinet as it allowed the new piece of furniture to match the rest of the kitchen. Wood Wax Finish Creativ is water-repellent, abrasion-proof and resistant to dirt and household chemicals. It is based on natural vegetable oils and waxes and by being environmentally friendly, makes it ideal for use in the kitchen environment.
