MARTIN's setup time killer – the T12 and T27 spindle moulders

Efficiency, flexibility, accuracy, reliability. These attributes characterise the redesigned T12 and T27 spindle moulders from MARTIN. Thanks to the practical design of the modern touchscreen control system, the machine is comfortable, fast and easy to operate despite its wide range of capabilities.

MARTIN spindle moulders in a new design

Like all machines from MARTIN, the T12 and T27 spindle moulders now feature a new papyrus white design. At the same time, both models have been equipped with a powerful, uniform 10.1" touchscreen control system.

Intuitive operation for maximum precision and efficiency

The new control system impresses with its intuitive user guidance and enables significant reductions in set-up times – for greater efficiency in everyday work.

Every setup operation is a challenge: a tool must be positioned precisely in the position required for the respective work step. What seems relatively simple with a vertical spindle quickly becomes a complex task with a tilted spindle – except with MARTIN spindle moulders.

Thanks to its advanced control system, up to 1,000 tools can be managed in an arranged database. Up to three freely definable reference points can be set for each tool. The current position is always displayed correctly in relation to the table level and fence – regardless of whether the tool is angled or positioned straight. All you need to do is enter the height, depth and, depending on the model, the angle – the machine does the rest.

Repeatability meets flexibility

Once settings have been made, they can be easily saved and reproduced at any time with maximum precision. However, the true strength of these powerful spindle moulders lies not only in their repeatability, but also in the quick and flexible setup of individual milling jobs – without any programming.

Depending on the type and equipment, the premium control system not only controls and monitors the tool positions, but also the electrically adjustable table rings, the depth position of the infeed jaw and the height position of the feed.

Set-up times down – process reliability up

"The first setting is right – that sums up the benefits of MARTIN spindle moulders," says Michael Mühldorfer, Head of Marketing at MARTIN. "Every day, our customers are faced with the task of completing complex work in ever shorter times and with the highest precision. The solution lies in an intelligent, easy-to-use control system that fully exploits the exceptional mechanical capabilities of our machines."

Fence for precision work

While the performance and capabilities of the control system are obvious, the fence tends to shine behind the scenes. However, the benefits that users derive from its capabilities are no less important. Its sophisticated double-sided guide allows unrivalled repeat accuracy of ± 0.025 mm. Even after the stop has been removed from the machine table in seconds, for example for arc milling work, no time-consuming referencing is necessary during dismantling. This is ensured by robust mechanical fits. Thanks to this high repeat accuracy, which also applies to the milling height and milling angle (± 0.005°), counter work, for example, can also be carried out easily and with maximum precision.

A MARTIN invention: the electric table rings

The electrically adjustable table rings available for the T27, with their infinitely variable adjustment range from 70 to 250 mm, enable minimal set-up times. Minimising the gap between the table and the tool is often a tricky set-up task, especially when the arbor is tilted – but not with MARTIN.

Time and again, the electrically adjustable rings elicit enthusiastic reactions from users when they see how quickly and easily this basic setup task can be completed. This eliminates the time-consuming changing or adjustment of table inserts or slides, while still achieving an optimal contact surface, especially for small work-pieces.

Machines for craftsmanship

MARTIN spindle moulding machines are designed for companies that produce individually, flexibly and diversely in the best sense of the word. This could be a three- to five-man workshop that uses the machine as its main machine for all milling work, but also a large furniture manufacturer that uses the spindle moulder as an efficient and flexible addition to its machining centre.

"Thanks to the consistently user-friendly, sophisticated control system, the many mechanical features of the machines can be put to exceptionally good use by the entrepreneur. Added to this is the possibility of tailoring the machine very precisely to the requirements of the company. This makes MARTIN spindle moulders the ideal machine for companies where efficiency, versatility, accuracy and reliability are key," concludes the marketing manager.
