MARTIN T12 – compact spindle moulder for precise production

MARTIN T12 spindle moulder

The fixed-spindle moulder combines digital operation, short set-up times and flexible equipment options for craft and industrial manufacturing environments.

With the T12, MARTIN offers a compact fixed-spindle moulder for professional users seeking to combine high machining quality, repeatable settings and flexible configuration options. The machine is aimed at joineries, cabinetmaking businesses, interior fit-out specialists and industrial manufacturers. It is equally suitable as an entry point into MARTIN spindle-moulding technology or as a high-performance addition to an existing production facility.

As standard, the T12 features motorised positioning of the spindle height. The required dimension is entered via the 10.1-inch touchscreen interface, after which the machine moves precisely to the specified position. This enables recurring machining operations to be prepared efficiently and settings to be reproduced reliably. Particularly in environments involving small batch sizes, frequent profile changes and a wide variety of components, the digital control system helps to reduce non-productive time and improve process reliability.

Depending on the chosen configuration, the level of operator assistance can be expanded considerably. Available options include a digital display or motorised positioning of the right-hand fence plate, motorised positioning of the complete spindle-moulder fence and a scanner-based tool and programme identification system. This allows the machine to be tailored precisely to the required level of automation. The unambiguous allocation of tools, setting data and machining programmes supports structured workflows and helps to prevent setting errors on repeat jobs.

Drive outputs of 7.5, 9.5 or 11 kW are available to provide the required cutting performance. This allows the T12 to be adapted to different materials, tool diameters and machining requirements. In addition to solid timber and wood-based panels, the machine can also be used, with an appropriate configuration and suitable tooling, for machining plastics and light alloys. Its precise and robust construction provides the basis for smooth running, dimensional accuracy and consistently high surface quality.

Particular emphasis has been placed on minimising set-up times. The T12 is equipped as standard with the DornFix quick-change system based on an SK40 interface. For businesses requiring frequent tool changes, HSK 63 F or HSK 85 PowerLock interfaces are also available. The HSK variants enable complete arbor and tool assemblies to be changed without tools and provide compatibility with tooling used on leading CNC machining centres. By transferring suitable through-feed moulding operations to the spindle moulder, valuable CNC capacity can be freed up for more complex tasks.

The spindle-moulder fence can also be adapted to suit specific operational requirements. Hard-coated aluminium fence plates are included in the standard specification, while an optional integral fence allows the fence opening to be closed close to the tool. The optional AutoLock system securely clamps the fence plates by means of spring pressure and releases them only during adjustment. This reduces the risk of insufficiently secured fence plates and supports safe, controlled workpiece guidance.

For consistent feed conditions, the T12 can be equipped with a three- or four-roller Variomatic power feeder. In combination with the comfort feeder support, the MemoLock system allows the feeder to be swung away for tool changes and then returned precisely to its previously defined position. Further options include extendable workpiece supports, table extensions, sliding tables for tenoning, slotting and counter-profiling operations, curved-work devices and a range of spindle-moulder guarding systems.

The MARTIN T12 therefore combines a compact footprint with the technical substance of a professional production machine. Manufactured in Germany and consistently engineered for demanding professional use, it reflects the manufacturer’s commitment to quality. For specialist businesses, it provides a practical overall solution combining precision, set-up convenience and extensive configurability, creating the conditions for the efficient and reliable machining of a wide range of moulding applications.
