MARTIN sliding table saw rip fences: precision and efficiency in panel sizing

With the rip fences of its sliding table saws, MARTIN offers a sophisticated solution for precise, ergonomic and efficient cutting processes in modern joinery and cabinetmaking workshops. The various configurations – from manual adjustment through to electro-motorised positioning – are consistently designed to deliver accuracy, operator convenience and process reliability.

As standard, all MARTIN sliding table saws are equipped with a manually adjustable rip fence. Smooth positioning via the scale and the integrated fine adjustment system enables highly accurate cutting results in everyday workshop operation.

Unlike simple round-bar guide systems, MARTIN relies on high-quality bearing technology: the fence is precisely guided by four robust deep-groove ball bearings. This allows the fence profile to move freely and stably across the machine table without additional support. When cutting long workpieces, the fence can be folded below table level at its outer end position with a single movement – a practical feature that provides maximum freedom of movement during material handling.

An electronic measuring system with digital readout in the control panel is available as an option. With a resolution of 0.1 mm, the system ensures consistently high repeat accuracy, particularly for recurring cutting dimensions. When changing the fence profile between upright and flat positions, the measurement display can be conveniently adjusted at the touch of a button.

For additional operator comfort, the rip fence can optionally be fitted with a handwheel. This allows the cutting width to be adjusted across the entire travel range directly from the operating position, supported by the digital display for maximum setting accuracy.

For both sliding table saw models, the MARTIN T66 and the MARTIN T77, an optional electro-motorised rip fence precisely positions the fence according to the cutting dimensions entered into the control system. Thanks to MARTIN’s SafeDrive drive technology, the fence travels its full adjustment range without switching to a hold-to-run mode. This significantly increases efficiency in day-to-day operation. If the machine detects a hazardous area, the system automatically reduces the travel speed, thereby enhancing operational safety. Manual movement of the fence is not possible in this configuration.

Exclusively for the T77, MARTIN also offers an electro-motorised rip fence that can be operated both electrically and manually. Unlike the standard motorised version, the fence does not fold down automatically in its end position, but is lowered manually – optionally even by remote control directly from the operating position. Naturally, this system also incorporates MARTIN SafeDrive technology.

For applications involving particularly long workpieces, a special 2.0 m fence profile is also available. This can be used either in place of the standard fence or as an additional fence profile, substantially extending the support and guidance surface.
