John Penny Woodworking Machinery Ltd has supplied high-quality machinery to the solid timber and joinery industries for 37 years.
The company’s first partnership was formed with Ateliers Mécaniques de Fegersheim, with a range of classical machines that are marketed under the name ‘UTIS’.
All machines in this heavy-duty range are manufactured using mainly cast iron for the bodies and tables and combined with the most up-to-date electronics.
The range includes thickness planers up to 1000mm wide, surface planers up to 800mm wide and an extensive selection of vertical spindle moulders including three-axis programmed control.
The second partnership was formed 25 years ago with Stegherr of Regenstauf in Germany, which manufactures standard and special machines for window and door production.
The ‘Stegherr joint’ produced on the KSF machine is known throughout the industry and there are many installations in the UK, from the manual KSF/Mini to the high production through feed CNC KSF2/E.
The Stegherr range also includes end scribing machines for glasing bars and window components, incorporating dowel drilling, glueing and insertion.

Another long-standing partnership is with S&S Maschinenbau GmbH which manufactures a full range of assembly cramps for windows and doors. This range incorporates everything from simple peg board vertical and horizontal cramps to high production programable through feed presses.
