The Vacu-Slide vacuum clamping system for MARTIN sliding table saws is an exciting development, with a clever vacuum clamping system for increased flexibility.
A securely and evenly clamped workpiece is essential for a good cut. With the VacuSlide vacuum workpiece clamping system, it is easy to securely clamp and saw full-surface workpieces made of wood, plastic or non-ferrous metals on the sliding table.
"To give users the opportunity to safely process even narrow workpieces," says Michael Mühldorfer, Head of Marketing at Martin, "we utilise the high material thicknesses of our sliding table. We have simply added suction zones to the table lip area as well. The classic suction cups in the table and the suction zones in the table lip complement each other perfectly."
More comfort and flexibility
VacuSlide can also be used with the cross cut fence for precise workpiece positioning. This can be positioned at the end or beginning of the trimming table and between the suction zones. Angle cuts are of course also possible at any time.
To do this, the suction zones that are not required are simply left unoccupied, and the intelligent system recognises this and switches off the zone. "This is what distinguishes the MARTIN system from other systems. The operator only has to decide whether to work with or without vacuum. It is not necessary to select the individual suction cups, as the system intelligently detects which suction cups are occupied. This ensures fast and intuitive operation," says Mühl-dorfer.
Fast set-up via radio
"Another feature of our VacuSlide clamping system is radio control. This makes the clamping system extremely easy to operate," explains Mühldorfer. The system is activated by remote control, the workpiece is placed on the trimming table or is already lying there – and that's it. The command to release is also given by radio – quickly and easily.
