Can you introduce WDCC and its core offering?
WDCC is a specialist in dust extraction and Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV) systems for the woodworking sector. Established in 1991 and based in Buckinghamshire, we design, manufacture and install bespoke systems across the UK and Ireland. We’ve completed more than 1500 installations for customers ranging from schools and universities to furniture manufacturers and sawmills. Our service covers the full lifecycle, including design, installation, servicing and LEV testing, with all systems built to meet COSHH and HSE guidance such as HSG258.
How do you approach system design?
Each project begins with a detailed site survey to assess machinery, layout and waste volumes. We then engineer a complete system, calculating airflow and designing ducting and filtration to ensure effective dust capture at source. This whole-system approach supports performance, safety and compliance.
How can systems adapt as workshops grow?
We regularly upgrade existing systems to accommodate additional machinery. This may involve extending ducting or increasing extraction capacity. With the right engineering approach, most systems can be adapted to support expansion.
How do you minimise installation disruption?
We work closely with customers to plan installations around production schedules, including weekends or shutdown periods. Temporary extraction can also be provided where required.
What defines effective dust control?
Effective systems capture dust at source, separate waste streams and maintain reliable filtration. Regular maintenance is essential to protect worker health, reduce fire risk and ensure compliance.
How are requirements evolving?
Stricter regulations, greater health awareness and sustainability are driving higher standards, including interest in solutions such as briquetting wood waste.
What are WDCC’s priorities?
Delivering practical, compliant solutions backed by qualified engineers (BOHS P601, P602, P604).
