Hill’s Panel Products (HPP) will be one of the first suppliers in the UK to sell a cutting-edge décor foil that aims to set a new benchmark in furniture industry design and functionality.
Originating from South Korea and called ‘Namuri’, eight of the 16 finishes are being added to HPP’s Aspire made-to-measure, vinyl-wrapped doors range, creating a ‘range within a range’.
HPP, which makes and supplies board, doors, fittings and components for the fitted furniture industry, is trading with Plasfoils, a leading distributor of foil materials, to bring Namuri to the UK market.
Inspired by woodland colours, Namuri features deep woodgrain embossing and a sophisticated two-tone effect that captures the look and feel of painted wood.
HPP is introducing three greens – Kombu Green, Reed Green and Sage Green; two blues – Alby Blue, Indigo Blue, alongside Cashmere, Frost White and Black. All the colours can be combined with matching boards from EGGER, Kronospan and other manufacturers.
“Designers and specifiers have long sought a unique yet versatile product to meet market demand, with something that features a seamless blend of robust performance and striking aesthetics,” says Chris Green, business manager at Plasfoils.
“With Namuri, we’ve created a product that delivers a realistic painted effect while offering robust performance. It is crafted using innovative embossing technology, resulting in a PVC foil that offers a sophisticated interplay of matt and semi-matt finishes. Feedback from customers has been overwhelmingly positive, with many mistaking it for real wood.”
Customers will be able to get a first glimpse of the new products at the Furniture Component Expo 25 at Telford International Centre this March and then on stand U31 at the FIT Show, held at NEC Birmingham from 29th April-1st May.
The new product takes its name from a combination of two Korean words – namu, meaning tree, and uri, a term for togetherness. It is available in two thicknesses tailored for diverse applications, including decorative panels, profile wrapping, and 3D pressing processes.
HPP’s vinyl-wrapped doors are all made-to-measure at the firm’s Oldham manufacturing plant. They are ideal for use in kitchens, bedrooms, offices and virtually any furniture situation. The vinyl coverings are tough, hard-wearing and durable for many years of trouble-free use.
