With the T45 Contour, MARTIN offers the unique opportunity to carry out profiling work up to 25mm deep and 630mm wide quickly and safely with a throughfeed thicknessing machine, in addition to all thicknessing work. The machine thus offers the user previously unimaginable flexibility in production.
From the outside, the impressive flexibility of the Contour machine is almost unrecognisable; even “under the bonnet” you have to know where to look to see what this machine can do.
After all, a thickness planer can do one thing above all –plane workpieces to an exact thickness. However, unlike a “normal” thickness planer, the T45 Contour offers the option of full-surface profiling. This means that this machine can be used to quickly and easily produce profiled seating surfaces, ribbed decking, textured panelling, precisely round rods up to 50mm in diameter and much more. An enormous increase in the product range for the contractor.
The Contour model is equipped with a cutterhead that can accommodate back-toothed profile knives, in addition to the usual four TERSA knife holders. The machine can be set up quickly and precisely thanks to a special setting aid.
In addition to the TERSA knives, commercially available corrugated knives, which can be easily ground in by any grinding service, are inserted into this cutter head.
Special safety devices ensure that profiling with this machine is just as safe as classic planing. However, it is important that the high level of safety does not come at the expense of perfect operability.
The materials are transported through the machine on exact tracks by means of easy-to-install feed trays. Depending on the profile width, two or even three different profiles can be produced with one machine setting. Even perfect round bars from approximately 4-50mm in diameter can be produced in just two passes.
Profiling to a width of up to 630mm opens up unimagined possibilities for the entrepreneur. Possibilities that were previously unthinkable or at least only possible with a multiple of the financial outlay. The machine has also already found numerous friends in the plastics processing industry.
