High gloss remains in trend and for this reason, Ostermann offers a comprehensive range of high gloss plain and decor edgings. From now on three more attractive edgings have joined the Ostermann acrylic and high gloss range. Advantage: a high gloss radius and and edging that can be easily repaired even after major damage.
To obtain a high-gloss edge, there are two methods so far: to paint the edging or to bond with high gloss edging and then remove the protective film after the bonding. The first method is quite time consuming and the second method quite practical. However both methods have something in common: scratches and damages are hardly repairable. In addition, all high-gloss ABS edgings always have a matt finish radius.
New material: painted acrylic
For glossy edgings, which require a non-visible radius or a greater resistance, Ostermann now offers a painted acrylic edging in its range. It is available in white, alabaster white and black in 23 x 1 mm.
One more step – but it’s worth it
The usual matt finish of the painted acrylic edging needs to be polished to a high gloss finish after the bonding process. This is done using a polishing wheel and the Redocol abrasive polish. However, what initially appears to be an annoying step is an advantage on closer inspection, as the painted acrylic can be re-polished when major scratches or bumps occur.
Even the radius shines
Unlike the high gloss ABS edging, even the radius on the painted acrylic edging appears shiny due to the subsequent polishing process. So it obtains a homogeneous edging image that looks exactly like the high-gloss surface of the panel, with a Zero glue line.
