Easily demarcated by its striking red “O”, the REDOCOL range comprises over 600 products – ranging from furniture handles and workshop needs to glues and adhesives – which each fulfil the highest standards of professional craftsmanship. The brand name, REDOCOL, is composed of the parts “Red-O” and “col”, with “col” standing for “collection”.
New for Ostermann is the REDOCOL collection’s EVA hotmelt adhesive, REDOCOL Kantomelt lightly filled. With EVA hotmelt adhesives, carpenters/cabinet makers can choose between filled, lightly filled and unfilled products. Filled versions contain resins and minerals, such as chalk or lime, in addition to the pure adhesives. This makes filled EVA hotmelt adhesives particularly easy to process.
Unfilled hotmelt, on the other hand, consists of pure EVA copolymer. The adhesive can be applied more thinly and produce a thinner joint when the machine is optimally adjusted. The processing, however, is more demanding, and higher feed rates are recommended.
The new EVA hotmelt REDOCOL Kantomelt lightly filled offers a good alternative. Compared to an unfilled hotmelt adhesive, the all-rounder is much easier to process and therefore particularly suitable for older and slow-running machines. There is no unwanted stringing or smearing of the adhesive. The hotmelt adhesive is further characterised by low consumption and a thinner glue joint as well as good heat and cold resistance. The bondline comes close to the quality of unfilled products.
Two colours, two container sizes
The new hotmelt adhesive is available in natural and white. For light board colours and decors, the Ostermann experts recommend white. Darker colours and decors are best processed with natural-coloured adhesive. If you want to test the new product first, choose the 2.5kg variant. For regular use, the larger 25kg container is best.
REDOCOL Kantomelt PUR LM with reduced Isocyanate content
With REDOCOL Kantomelt PUR LM, Ostermann now offers a new PUR hotmelt adhesive with low monomeric isocyanates content. When processing edgings, hotmelt adhesives based on polyurethane (PUR) ensure a particularly good, durable and water- and heat-resistant bond. Since the requirements for occupational safety and environmental protection are increasing in the area of PUR adhesives, Ostermann has now included a PUR hotmelt adhesive with a reduced monomeric isocyanate content in its range.
The new REDOCOL Kantomelt PUR LM is the first non-labelled PUR product of the REDOCOL brand. It is available as a 2kg block and in two colours – natural and white. For more information, type in the search term “#REDOCOLLM” on the Ostermann website.
