Even more new 10.8V CXT tools with innovative brushless motor join the range

Makita has introduced five further 10.8V tools including a new combi drill, drill driver and impact driver featuring the innovative brushless motor, and a new CXT jigsaw and 85mm tile cutter. These new models also feature the new 10.8V slide-type Li-Ion battery which allows easier removal.

The new Makita HP332D 10.8V Brushless combi drill will drive an 8mm bit through masonry and drill a 28mm hole in timber. This two-speed combi will run at 450rpm in low speed and up to 1500rpm in the high speed setting, generating up to 6750 blows per minute in Low and up to 22,500rpm in High, with corresponding torque of 21Nm and 35Nm.

There are 20-plus drill settings that can be selected by the rotating ring positioned behind the keyless chuck. The highly efficient Brushless motor is controlled by the variable speed trigger with the two mechanical gears selected by the slide control on top of the motor body. The overall body length is just 168mm and this tiny 1.3kg drill has ergonomic soft grip, an LED job light and belt clip.

Two additional new products feature these same performance attributes: the new Makita DF332D Brushless drill driver and the latest DF032D 1/4in Hex-drive chuck drill driver. Both are equally compact, the former weighing a mere 1.2kg with an overall body length of just 154mm, and the DF032D model weighing 1.0kg and measuring only 124mm front to back.

All three machines are supplied either as body only, or with two 2.0Ah batteries and a DC10SA fast charger, and a MAKPAC Type 1 connector case.

The new Makita JV101D 10.8V CXT jigsaw will run up to 2900 strokes per minute to achieve the most efficient cutting. Stroke length is 18mm with B-type blades held by a simple Allen key fitting giving a maximum capacity in wood of 65mm and 2mm in mild steel. This useful jigsaw has three orbital settings and bevel angles from 0° to 45° left or right.

The comfortable ergonomically-designed handle gives perfect machine control with variable speed trigger while the rear battery location gives excellent machine balance. There is a blower function to give a clear view of the blade cut and can be connected directly to a dust extractor with the correct attachment.

Tilers will be pleased with the new Makita CC301D 85mm tile cutter which has a high maximum no load speed of 1600rpm. Depth of cut at 0° is 25.4mm (1in) and 16.5mm at the 45° bevel angle with strong base plate. Designed specifically for cutting glass and ceramic tiles, this tile cutter has an easy-fill 500ml water container with flow control valve, while a lock-off safety lever prevents accidental start-up.

The Makita 10.8V range continues to grow as the compact size and powerful brushless motors prove efficient for many installation operations, where previously a larger and heavier tool would have been considered necessary.
