Woodland Heritage announces new Chief Executive

Woodland Heritage has announced Louisa Pharoah as its new Chief Executive, taking over from John Orchard.

"Having joined the organisation this week, I've enjoyed a warm welcome from the Woodland Heritage team and Trustees, and I've already seen the passion and commitment that make this charity so special," says Louisa.

"I'm also very grateful to John Orchard for the generous handover he has given me. John has made an outstanding contribution to Woodland Heritage during his time as Chief Executive, helping to strengthen the organisation, and while I know I have big shoes to fill, I feel fortunate to be joining an organisation that is so well regarded and has such expertise amongst our membership.

"My career has taken me through a range of charities, most recently at Bristol Dockyards and previously at the Soil Association. Throughout that time, I've seen the power of bringing people together around a shared purpose, and that's one of the things that excites me most about Woodland Heritage. We have a unique role in connecting woodland owners, foresters, makers, timber users and supporters who all care deeply about the future of our woodlands.

"As we move through autumn and look ahead to the year to come, I'm looking forward to listening, learning and building relationships across the sector. Thank you for the warm welcome I've already received. I look forward to meeting many more of you in the months ahead, and if you’d like to get in touch, I’d love to hear from you.
