The Timber Trade Federation (TTF) has announced the appointment of David Hopkins as new director. David is currently director at Wood for Good, the timber industry communications campaign. He will now take a position on the board of Wood for Good as he moves into his new role at TTF.
Keith Fryer, president of the TTF says: “I am delighted that David has accepted the position of director. It was a tough recruitment battle with a number of top-class candidates. We need somebody with the vision, skills and knowledge to take the federation forward through a period of great change, and David is that man.
“His time at Wood for Good has given him great insight into the challenges and opportunities across the whole supply chain. I am looking forward to working together for what will be a positive, exciting and eventful time ahead.”
During his time at Wood for Good, David led the award-winning Wood First and Building with Carbon campaigns, helped develop the timber industry lifecycle assessment database, and focused on putting timber’s low carbon properties at the front of the national agenda. He is a regular speaker at industry conferences and events, most recently promoting timber’s role in a low-carbon economy to policy makers at the European Parliament.
David replaces outgoing chief executive David Lennan who stepped down from the post on December 31st.
Keith adds: “I would like to thank David Lennan for his time, tenacity and inputs over the course of the past year. He has helped put the structure in place for a prosperous future for the TTF. Without his driving instinct and determination we would never have delivered the CTI for which we all owe a debt of gratitude. On behalf of everyone at the TTF I send him our very best wishes for the future.”
