Oliver Haslette, the founder and Chairman of Merenda, peacefully passed away on 28th August at Sligo University Hospital.
Oliver, together with his wife Joan, set up Merenda over 40 years ago, transforming it into the world-class manufacturer and supplier of veneer products that it is today.
"Oliver’s total belief, foresight, and dedication to creating a company which makes the most sustainable use of our precious natural resource, wood, has left a legacy not just for us but for future generations," the company expressed.
"The Merenda Team will miss him, his dedication to us, his leadership, and especially his sense of humour.
"Our condolences to Joan, John, Siobhan, Paul, Marianne, our Managing Director Ronan, Oliver’s extended family, and friends who knew and loved him."
