The managing director of British Furniture Manufacturers (BFM), Nick Garratt, has announced his intention to step down from the role at the end of the year.
Nick informed the national trade body’s management Board in June of his decision.
As colleagues paid tribute to the ‘enormous impact’ Nick has had on the BFM during his tenure, the search will now begin for the right candidate to take his place.
BFM chairman, Brian Ahern, said: “As we look ahead to a post-pandemic world, the BFM is in a strong position – and Nick has had a huge part to play in navigating the association through these difficult times.
“Nick will be a very hard act to follow. The Board and members of BFM all wish Nick well for the future.”
Nick said: “It has been a privilege to be part of BFM and to serve the Association as MD over the last three years. I am very proud that BFM is in a strong position as I prepare to step back from day-to-day operations and enjoy more time with my family.”
Brian Ahern added: “We are very keen to hear from potential candidates for the role of MD at BFM. We will be drawing up a job description and welcome initial expressions of interest for this vital role”
