Tooling firm helps inspire others

Whitehill Spindle Tools has been selected by the UK Government to add industry insight into the Manufacturing Edition of the Parliamentary Review 2017. The company features alongside the Prime Minister and a small number of specifically-selected UK organisations that have shown outstanding results from excellent working methods and practices.

The annual Parliamentary Review combines political commentary from leading journalists and sector-specific insight from Secretaries of State, Ministers and MPs. Distributed to over 250,000 leading business owners and policy makers in the UK and internationally, the review demonstrates how sector industry leaders have responded to challenges in the political and economic environment.

The 2017 Review was released in September to coincide with the beginning of the Parliamentary year, and allows leading organisations and executives to share personal insight and discuss best-practice alongside Cabinet and senior ministers.

The review highlight best practice as a learning tool to the public and private sectors and is aimed at sharing knowledge and raising standards within the engineering industry and the country at large.

Whitehill’s contribution demonstrates how its significant and vital investments in product design have helped radically improve the wooden window and door market. The company’s efforts and success has helped reverse the downward trend of wood against the UPVC market. This has resulted in impressive YOY growth for the Luton-based manufacturer over and beyond the last decade.

This ongoing success has continued despite the unknown effects of Brexit, and shows no signs of abating. The enormous advances made by Whitehill has translated to its UK and international clients receiving fully-finished. UK-manufactured. quality-controlled products, which are fully backed by certificates of performance criteria.

Whitehill’s MD, David Hudson, comments: “Our continual investment in our people and our machinery is in place to allow us to provide all customers, however large or small, with the best technical advice and incomparable quality for both products and service.”

The Parliamentary Review is sent to over 250,000 leading policymakers across all policy areas, and the articles in the review act as both a blueprint for success and a template for reform. The Prime Minister commented that “this year’s Parliamentary Review follows a significant year in British politics”, and this is reflected in the articles from leading journalists and best-practice representatives alike.

The PM’s former cabinet colleague, Sir Eric Pickles, who was recently appointed chairman of the review, said: “It has never been more important for Government to hear the views of business and the public sector in a constructive forum. It is also a vital time to share best practice and progress.”

The Parliamentary Review director, Daniel Yossman, concurred, saying: ‘Whitehill Spindle Tools and other hard-working organisations from across the country have come together to make this year’s review possible. Sharing knowledge and insight with both peers and Government is essential work, and I am delighted that this year’s review will reach every corner of the British economy.

“It’s always a real joy to hear from policymakers who tell me that something they have read in the review has had an effect on their thinking.

“It is my belief that innovation is contagious, if only it is given the platform to spread. It is the review’s purpose to provide this platform, and I am confident we are fulfilling it.”
