The Vita Group, one of Europe’s leading flexible polyurethane foam manufacturers, has launched its 2025 Sustainability Report, Enhancing Everyday Life, highlighting continued progress on circularity, emissions reduction and responsible sourcing.
The report highlights five years of progress the business has made in a challenging economic environment. During this time, sustainability has been embedded more closely into innovation and procurement to support the long-term growth of the business.
Highlights include:
- ~55% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions compared to 2019
- 100% renewable electricity maintained across all operations
- Record‑low Lost Time Incident Frequency Rate (LTIFR) of 0.12
- 77% of sites able to manufacture using sustainable polyol
The 2025 report makes a crucial step with transparency, with independent limited assurance introduced on selected sustainability metrics. strengthening the credibility of Vita’s sustainability data. It means that key metrics, including emissions and safety performance, have been reviewed by a third party using recognised standards, giving customers and investors greater confidence that the figures reported are accurate, consistent and not overstated.
Innovation remains central to Vita’s strategy, with ongoing development of next-generation materials such as Orbis Ultra, which is capable of reaching up to 95% recycled content. The introduction of products which contain mass balance also demonstrates how lower-carbon materials can be brought to the market at scale.
A stronger focus on partnerships is evident, particularly across the supply chain where most emissions sit. Vita has continued its collaboration with suppliers to improve data quality, support lower carbon feedstocks and accelerate the shift towards circular materials.
The Group has expanded its use of Life Cycle Analysis, with supplier‑specific data now covering over 80% of bulk raw materials. This is improving decision‑making around material selection, product design and procurement.
“2025 has been a demanding year for industry, but we have stayed focused on delivering sustainable growth," says Omar Hoek, Group CEO of The Vita Group. "By strengthening the link between sustainability, innovation and procurement, we are building a more resilient business.
"Our progress is grounded in practical action, from advancing circular materials to working more closely with suppliers. This is how we will continue to reduce our impact while staying competitive.”
Natalie Watson, Director of Sustainability at The Vita Group, added: “This report reflects a clear step forward in how we manage and report sustainability. Introducing independent assurance strengthens confidence in our data and our approach.
Real progress comes through collaboration. By working more closely with suppliers and improving the quality of our data, we are better equipped to reduce emissions and support more circular outcomes across our value chain.”
The report reaffirms Vita’s long‑term commitment to reducing emissions across Scope 1, 2 and 3 by 90% by 2050 and continuing to scale circular material solutions across its product portfolio.
