Surplex, one of Europe’s leading industrial auction platforms, has announced the relaunch of its UK activities under the Surplex UK brand. The move marks an important step in strengthening Surplex’s presence in the United Kingdom and further integrating the UK market into its pan-European auction network.
Surplex has been active in the UK market for several years and previously operated under the Surplex name. Following a period in which activities were aligned more closely with sister brands within the group, the UK operation is now once again trading under the Surplex brand. This relaunch reflects the company’s ambition to offer UK B2B buyers and sellers direct access to Surplex’s international marketplace and digital auction expertise.
Operating from the UK with a dedicated local team, Surplex UK supports British manufacturers, dealers and insolvency professionals in the sale of used machinery and industrial assets. Auctions are marketed internationally via surplex.com, connecting UK sellers with buyers in more than 170 countries worldwide.
“Reintroducing the Surplex brand in the UK allows us to clearly position ourselves as part of a strong European auction platform, while remaining close to the local market,” says Leigh McCarron, Project & Acquisition Manager UK at Surplex. “UK sellers benefit from international reach and professional auction management, while buyers gain access to high-quality British machinery through a trusted digital platform.”
As part of the wider TBAuctions group, Surplex works alongside established auction brands such as Troostwijk Auctions, sharing technology, expertise and best practices across Europe. This structure enables Surplex to combine local market knowledge with the scale, visibility, and operational strength of an international auction group.
With the relaunch of Surplex UK, the company aims to further expand its portfolio of UK auctions in sectors such as metalworking, woodworking, plastics, logistics and complete factory liquidations.
