Smallbone and Mark Wilkinson (SMWF) presented milestone career awards to three craftsmen that have together notched up ninety years’ service at the Devizes workshop.
Andrew Potter and Kevin Paget celebrated 25 years and Steve Webb was recognised for forty years’ service.
Andrew started his career with Mark Wilkinson, drawer making at his Bromham workshop. He then progressed into the workshop at Devizes and developed expertise in the furniture production process from raw materials to the finished carcass.
Kevin also started his career at Mark Wilkinson’s workshop in Bromham, joining from school. He is a third generation craftsmen, his grandfather Geoff and father Dave all worked at Bromham at the same time.
Steve also boasts three generations in the Smallbone family, with Steve’s own son having been a fitter and his father even grace the cover of the first ever Smallbone brochure!
SMWF executive chairman Ian Gray said: “These exceptional members of staff have played a significant part in maintaining our performance standards, quality and commitment to excellence over the years.
“Their hard work and loyalty has contributed to the unique craftsmanship heritage that is so important to both brands.”
All three received a certificate to commemorate their achievements. Andrew and Kevin both received a watch and a cash sum. Steve was presented with two crystal glasses engraved with the company logos, a decanter and a beautiful handcrafted personalised stand, as well as a voucher for a luxury weekend away.
