Silentnight named Best of British Superbrand

Silentnight, the UK’s largest manufacturer of beds, mattresses and sleep accessories, has been named the number one bed brand in the Consumer Superbrands 2016. The annual awards see more than 1500 of Britain’s favourite brands going head to head to be judged on criteria of quality, reliability and distinction.

The accolade comes after a stellar year for Silentnight with 10% growth on the previous year, thanks to its strong product performance and focus on innovation  and quality.

The brand’s Mirapocket pocket sprung collection has experienced exceptional growth, with the 1200 mattress model receiving a Which? Best Buy.

Geltex, Silentnight’s exclusive mattress technology which features a gel-infused comfort layer with a unique combination of superior comfort and temperature control, has also continued to go from strength to strength.

In addition to the brand’s success with Which? accreditations, the new Safe Nights cot bed mattress range has been recognised for its superior quality with four high profile award wins, including a Gold at the Mother & Baby Awards.

Over the last five years, the company has launched 20 new products including a more premium product – Miraform – an innovative spring-free mattress technology, a new range of luxury pet beds and a new bed frame collection launching this summer.

2016 marks the 11th year that Silentnight has achieved Superbrands status. The Lancashire-based company, which employs over 1000 people, has been providing sleep solutions for all the family for over 60 years and manufactures all of its products in the UK.

In addition to innovation, quality lies firmly at the heart of the business. The organisation is the only UK bed manufacturer with an in-house SATRA-approved testing lab to ensure all its products meet UK quality and safety requirements.

This commitment to quality is also echoed in the business’ apprenticeship programme which has received widespread industry accreditation, from the Government to the National Apprenticeship Awards 2015.

Silentnight’s marketing director Nick Booth says: “We are proud to be awarded Superbrands status once again. This is testament to our commitment to quality, service and innovation within the bed industry.”

Superbrands has been identifying the UK’s leading consumer brands since 1995. The process, managed by The Centre for Brand Analysis (TCBA), questioned 2500 British adults who assessed over 1500 brands.

Others to achieve Superbrand status in 2016 include British Airways, Lego, Kellogg’s, Google and John Lewis. Silentnight has been named winner of the Beds and Bedroom Furniture category.
